Credential status definitions

Clear public definitions reduce confusion and protect the value of future GMI credentials.

Active

The credential holder has met current requirements and is authorized to represent the credential according to GMI policies.

Expired

The credential is no longer current because renewal, continuing education, or other maintenance requirements were not completed.

Suspended or revoked

The credential is not in good standing due to policy, ethics, integrity, or disciplinary action.

Pending verification

The record requires administrative review before GMI confirms public status.

Anti-Misrepresentation Notice

No active GMI credential claims are authorized until GMI formally launches certification and verifies status.

If you see a person or organization claiming GMI certification, credential status, REP approval, or authorized representation that appears inaccurate, use the concern reporting form.
